Available in fall 2025!
In this Short Course, you will:
Learn some software options for coding your interview data
Learn some software options at different price points and weigh some of the pros and cons of each (and I'll share which ones I use)
Develop a system for organizing your interview data files
Learn how to store and track your interview research files: interview recordings, transcripts, consent forms, correspondence, other documents, and your pseudonym list. It's a lot to keep track of!
Understand options for qualitative coding
Get help discerning the best method(s) for coding your interview data, and through some examples and practice exercises, learn a process for organizing your interview data into categories for analysis.
Using (inexpensive, comes with a free trial) Dedoose qualitative coding software, we will go through an example project in a video, categorizing the data files and coding for initial themes, then dividing those themes into sub-themes, and then dividing those sub-themes into more subthemes, until we have the "granularity" needed to answer our research questions.
Then, you will apply this process to your own project! Whether you use Dedoose, some other software, or no software at all, what you learn here can be directly applied to your project, to get your coding and analysis done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
